How I deal with folks who spam this blog

Seems there are some new folks who have found my blog. Well, you are certainly welcome to contribute here. While I don’t have many rules (common courtesy, no profanity), there are a couple of things I won’t tolerate.

Posting the same comment over and over in multiple threads will result in you being banned.

Posting under multiple names will result in you being banned.

If you have done that, now you know why your comments no longer show.

UPDATE: I have discovered where all these folks are coming from (here). They have linked to my post on the Hillary rally and have left some pretty nasty stuff. Here’s what the post said:

Comic Relief… | Report to Admin

Here’s a link to a Hillary supporter’s page. She is all excited because of the huge turn out 2/7 for her candidate… held at a Virginia high school. 1,000 turn out?

Warning do not have any thing in your mouth while reading this blog. It could lead to choking or spewing of food on your key board.

I closed the post for more comments. Some Democrats, these folks.

  1. They’re getting to be worse than the R** P*** people. (It’s kinda like Beetlejuice. Say the name, and they’re likely to appear. Freaky.)

Not really related: Carlos del Toro did an excellent job at the vets meeting in Arlington last night. Obama’s guy (who also did an excellent job) had needled him a bit (in a good natured way) and he swatted it right back. McCain’s guy? Oh, wait, there wasn’t one. When that became apparent, someone in the audience volunteered to represent him, got up and said “I trust McCain. Uh, don’t waste your vote. Go vote for whoever on Tuesday.”

    Indeed.

  2. Speaking from experience, the R** P*** folks are pretty outrageous. I know for my site that I have to spam at least a dozen or more linkbacks from random aggregators if I even mention his name. And heaven help you if you criticize him.

Thing is, Obama supporters are starting to get just as bad. There are posts and articles popping up as of late talking about the almost fanatic manner in which some of his supporters back him and it’s frightening. That’s not saying all Clinton supporters are sane in their support (*cough*NLS*cough*cough*) but, man, this is some election cycle.

  3. I prefer a civilized blog, even if we disagree. Thank you.

And though I agree with Ron Paul on many things, so many of his supporters are complete nutjobs.
