I got confirmation earlier today that the Rerras appointment will happen. So gear up, folks, for a special election in the 6th.
Further, I understand that the appointment is a benevolent one to help out Rerras and not as an effort to try to claim the 6th for Democrats. In that case, I think it is great that Kaine is willing to reach across the aisle to help a fellow legislator.

Benevolent?
Oh. come on Vivian, give me a break. Do you really think politics is not a factor here?
And, as far as benevolence is concerned, I know a lot of Democrats that need financial help a lot more than Mr. Rerras does.
Politics is always a factor. But is it the motivating factor here? I’m not sure.
Actually, I was trying to be polite about the whole situation. I don’t know what Rerras’ finances look like and don’t necessarily want to pass on rumors about what they are. Are there others in similar circumstances? Again, I don’t know about that.
