Congrats Jordin Sparks!
It took two hours to get to the results, not all of which was entertaining. Some 74 million votes – the largest ever – were cast.
The two hours was taken up with special performances by a variety of singers among them Gwen Stefani, Kelly Clarkson, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Carrie Underwood, the African Children’s Choir, Green Day, Taylor Hicks, Reuben Studdard, and Bette Midler.

Of the three, only Gladys still has the chops to be on stage.
Congrats to former Idol contestant Chris Daughtry for selling over 2.5 million albums. But it is Carrie Underwood who is really shining. She has sold over 6 million copies of her debut album and has won numerous awards. As I was watching her perform tonight, I said “She’s got the whole package.” There’s no doubt that Carrie has a long career ahead of her.
And so does Jordin π

Don’t be flailing on my man TONY . . . He’s a classic. Even if YOU don’t like him. I would listen to him any day over Gladys Knight. I’d rather slam my head in a car door than listen to one more version of “Midnight Train to Georgia” or “Neither One of Us” from her.
Didn’t I hear Tony Bennett sing “Misty” last Friday night at the Cavalier while some blogger played the piano??
And here I thought you had taste π
