Northam campaign update

Ralph NorthamFirst thing: the Ralph Northam / Paula Miller headquarters opening mentioned in the post below is on Saturday, August 18 at 10:30am. The Northam campaign will have a similar headquarters opening for the Eastern Shore office this coming Saturday, August 11.

Secondly: the campaign reports that things are going quite well. Fundraising, in which Northam campaign is already way ahead of that of incumbent Nick Rerras, has actually picked up! Rerras is holding his first real fundraiser in a couple of weeks, on August 22, with AG Bob McDonnell. Note to potential Rerras contributors: don’t waste your money. Northam is a fundraising machine and is committed to raising as much money as he needs in order to win this race.

Other aspects of the campaign continue to go well, especially voter contact. And in case you hadn’t noticed, the Northam campaign and the Miller campaign are working together to keep the seat in the 87th and win the seat in the 6th. I understand that the opposing camps are not coordinating their efforts. Not that I want to give them any ideas 😉 but it does raise a question in my mind.

We’ve got a winner here, folks. But we have to do our part. Volunteer and donate today!

  1. eileen,
you are correct, however, the control to the HRTA doesn’t take place until the bonds and all other debt have been paid in full, until that time control and operation of the CBBT stays with the CBBT commission. It is estimated that it will take approx 45-50 years before that happens. Lynwood Lewis, a dem, voted and supported for that same bill. I believe Northam would have supported as well if in that same situation. Lynwood Lewis and Rerras have consitently supported the same interest for the concerns for the ES. People on the ES are not to concerned about the dems attacks on Rerras, his record in support of the ES speaks for itself. I don’t beleive Northam has made any negative comments about Rerras as far as his support for the ES, all he has done so far is talk in generalities. Don’t count your chickens before they hatch!

  2. Some thoughts this election will have a low voter turnout, meaning who ever gets the base out wins, this is why nick is going hard right, as for hank he will fall way short of beating miller, a tide, a wave, something is out there coming hard.

  3. I wouldn’t be surprised if Northam gets at least 40% of the vote in Chincoteague, which would allow him to win Accomack.

He’ll win Onancock, and do well in Onley. If he does well in Chincoteague, and turns out the vote in an off-off-year in Painter, Rue, Accomac, and Melfa, he’ll win the county.
