The Virginian Pilot announced its endorsements in the Virginia Beach races this morning, choosing Joe Bouchard in the 83rd and Bobby Mathieson in the 21st.
On Bouchard:
For years now, Bouchard has been a persuasive but quiet voice guiding deliberations on the biggest regional issues — the port, the future of Oceana Naval Air Station, the BRAC process, transportation.
On Mathieson:
Mathieson is the far better choice for the 21st. There are no doubts that he will do right by the people who send him to Richmond, and that he will not embarrass them.
The Pilot also endorsed Bob Purkey in the 82nd, making me 7 of 8 in my endorsement predictions. Not bad, eh? We’ll see how well I do in predicting the winners, which I’ll do later this week.
