Another LG candidate

I missed this yesterday: it appears we now have four candidates in the race for LG.

Michael Signer, an attorney who served as deputy counselor to Mark R. Warner (D) when he was governor, is considering entering the race for the Democratic nomination for lieutenant governor.

I  just finished an interview with Rich Savage (article coming later). Asked about Signer, Savage said that he welcomes him to to race.

  1. Off topic but here’s one more reminder that politics is about money and who has the most. My local county committee chair sent the following to
    “committee members and friends”:

“…Brian [Moran] will donate 0.50 [cents] to local committees for each valid signature gathered by the committee.” Somehow, this just doesn’t
seem “appropriate” at the beginning of the election cycle nor does it seem appropriate for a chair to promote the reward to the committee. To be fair, the other gubenatorial candidates were mentioned. So if you want money in your committee, get the signatures for Brian.

How do the rest of you feel? (I like Brian and know he’d make a good
governor but I don’t like this maneuver….but maybe I’m just
    naive.)

  2. Interesting news. I’ve come into contact with Michael Signer a few times over the past years and have been impressed with him. Smart guy, likeable too. A lot more energy than Jody in my opinion. Should be an interesting race, at least will shake things up.
