It may be Cinco de Mayo, but the five contestants became four with Wednesday night’s results.
Tuesday night, the contestants took on the songbook of Frank Sinatra. They were mentored by Harry Connick, Jr., who also did all of the arrangements. Some of the contestants were clearly out of their comfort zones – here’s looking at you, Casey – while others put their personal stamps on the standards.
Strangely enough, Lady GaGa performed on Wednesday night’s show. That’s about as far from Sinatra as you can get, so I didn’t understand why she, of all people, was on the show.
As for Harry Connick, Jr. – well, let’s just say I’d much rather hear him play the piano than sing 😦
As for the results, sometimes I wonder what the voters hear that I don’t. The bottom two consisted of Mike and Aaron, even though Casey was clearly the worst last night. Voted off was 17-year-old Aaron.
Oh well. There’s always next week.
