Seems like a surprising amount of time to me, but it’s actually well below the federal sentencing guidelines for the crime.

I thought he’d get the 12 years, but yes, 9 1/2 years is a long time. Plus probation afterwards.

Phil made a gross error in judgement and has already paid a steep price for it. There is no reason he now needs to be in prison. There are so many other creative sentences that could have been handed down to have Phil repay the Commwealth. I am sorry for Phil and his family.
