Friday fun: President Obama visits Hampton Roads

President Obama is coming to Virginia this weekend, and his first stop of the day is in Virginia Beach. I’ll be there to cover the event. In the meantime, here’s a little quiz I found about the Affordable Care Act. It tests your knowledge of the law. I got all ten questions right 🙂

A few facts about the effects of ACA in Virginia Beach:

  • In Virginia Beach, more than 3,600 Medicare recipients have saved on average of $657 in prescription drug costs.
  • An estimated 4,132 young adults who otherwise would have lacked insurance now have it through their parents’ plan in Virginia Beach.
  • Up to 35,600 children in and around Virginia Beach can’t be denied coverage because of a pre-existing condition.

Across Virginia, more than 687,000 people will receive rebates totaling over $43.1 million from their health insurance companies who failed to spend at least 80 percent of premium dollars on health care.

I’ll most likely be tweeting throughout the event so if you don’t already follow me on Twitter, now would be the time 🙂
