If we could be so lucky

Wedding-RingsReason 9,999,8756 why elections matter: Just look to PA.

Pennsylvania attorney general Kathleen Kane will not defend the state in a federal lawsuit filed this week challenging the constitutionality of the state’s ban on same-sex marriage, lawyers involved in the case said.

The ACLU is filing a similar suit here in Virginia. Our current attorney general, Ken Cuccinelli, would definitely defend it. But in November, Virginians will be choosing a new AG.

If nothing else came out of the AG debate in Virginia Beach last month, we know where the candidates are on this issue. Democrat Mark Herring is against the ban, while Republican Mark Obenshain supports it.

Elections have consequences, folks. And decisions are made by those who show up.
