Last week, two Norfolk men filed suit challenging Virginia’s marriage inequality. Three days later, an Ohio judge issued a restraining order which forbade the registrar of deaths from accepting a death certificate that did not reflect that a gay man was married and named his surviving spouse.
Reading through the Ohio court order, the date and location of the men’s marriage jumped out at me: July 11, 2013 in Maryland.
Same date, same state for me, albeit about 120 miles away. Unbelievable.
