This November, voters will be required to show valid photo IDs in order to vote. The Norfolk Office of Elections is holding several events across the city to provide photo IDs to those who lack them.
Acceptable forms of voter photo identification include: a valid Virginia Driver’s License or DMV- issued photo identification card, valid United States Passport, valid Employee photo identification card, other government-issued photo identification card, or a valid college or university student photo identification from an institution of higher learning located in Virginia.
If you do not possess one of the above types of valid photo identification, you may request a voter photo ID from your local registrar’s office.
Please note: This photo ID can be used for voting purposes only.
The Norfolk Office of Elections is located at 810 Union Street (City Hall Building), Room 808. In addition to our regular office hours, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, the Norfolk Office of Elections will be hosting the following Voter Photo ID events:
Wednesday, October 1st from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the Norview Community Center, 6380 Sewells Point Road
Friday, October 3rd from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Southside Aquatics Center, 1750 Campostella Road
Friday, October 10th from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Mary D. Pretlow Anchor Branch Library, 111 W. Ocean View Avenue
