The cat is out of the bag. A new blog, The Women's Post, is online. If you would like to participate, email me. Phyllis Randall at A Moderate Voice has thrown her hat in the ring. She announced this morning that she is running for Supervisor. I wish her the best. Head on over and … Continue reading Monday afternoon quickies

Monday morning quarterback 12/18/06

So I was able to catch the first half of the Redskins game against the Saints yesterday before I had to head out for a meeting. I'll catch the highlights later but I was pleasantly surprised that they managed to hang on and win, especially after the drubbing that the Saints gave the Cowboys last … Continue reading Monday morning quarterback 12/18/06

Monday Morning Quarterback 12/11/06

So the Redskins have been officially eliminated from the playoffs with yesterday's loss to the Eagles and a 4-9 record. Of course, they really were eliminated a while back, but now the playoffs aren't even a mathematical possibility. The Skins played well yesterday, outperforming the Eagles in running yards, passing yards and time of possession. … Continue reading Monday Morning Quarterback 12/11/06

First, Norfolk native Whitaker is one of my favorite boxers. Second, the jacket was worn in the corner of one of … Continue reading Sweetpea elected to Hall of Fame

Good story of the day: Troy & Tommi Vincent

The Virginian-Pilot had an interesting article on Redskins safety Troy Vincent today. Vincent has set up a community development corporation in his home town of Trenton, NJ. Uncomfortable with the possibility of being seen as a "knight in shining armor," Vincent and his wife, Tommi, were not satisfied with just donating money here and there. … Continue reading Good story of the day: Troy & Tommi Vincent

Monday morning quarterback

I had high hopes for the Redskins yesterday. On Sunday morning, I read this article from the Virginian-Pilot, in which Jim Ducibella laid out the plans to return to smash-mouth football. Good - a return to Redskins-style football. And early in the game, I was not disappointed. The 'Skins jumped out to a 14-0 lead, … Continue reading Monday morning quarterback
