The AP is reporting that Dollar Bill Jefferson will not be a member of the House Ways and Means committee – or at least, not until the federal corruption investigation of him is complete.
How those folks in Louisiana elected Jefferson, I’ll never know. As for the investigation – I just want to see him try to explain away the $90,000 in frozen food containers in his freezer. As for why it wasn’t the full $100,000, A Moderate Voice offers this explanation:
One guess, on the way to his freezer Jefferson stopped by church to pay his tithes.
Perhaps. Or shared it with some of the voters in Louisiana.
